Job Title: Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are currently recruiting an Electrical Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at a static site.
Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and support within a large, complex environment, ensuring critical uptime, safety, and compliance across all systems.
Shift: Week 1: 2 on, 3 off, 2 on. Week 2: 2 off, 3 on, 2 off. 12 hour shifts, 6am-6pm.
Role Summary:
Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical systems, including lighting, emergency systems, power distribution, UPS, and control panels
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, ensuring swift, safe resolution
Assist with minor installation works and upgrades, and liaise with external contractors when required
Perform scheduled system inspections and compliance testing, such as emergency lighting tests, fixed wire testing support, and generator checks
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in line with health and safety standards, including isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems
Accurately complete all associated paperwork, including job sheets, reports, risk assessments, and method statements
Collaborate with other shift engineers and the site management team to address escalations and service-level agreements (SLAs)
Monitor and report on the performance of critical plant and electrical infrastructure, escalating issues proactively
Maintain strong communication with the client and help ensure minimal disruption to site operations
Experience Required:
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or Engineering
17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
Proven experience in electrical maintenance on commercial or critical environments (data centres, hospitals, offices, etc.)
Experience working on shift patterns, including days and nights, with the ability to respond to time-sensitive or high-impact issues
Good understanding of permit systems, H&S regulations, and safe systems of work
Ability to work independently or within a shift team, delivering under pressure
Desirable:
LVAP certification
Experience with BMS systems, UPS, and generator testing
Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems (to assist multi-skilled teams)
