This is an exciting time to join Calderdale Council’s Adult Social Care Teams. Calderdale Council is the most improved adult social services Directorate in Yorkshire Humber, rated Good by CQC following inspection in 2025. An opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Social Work Team.

The Mental Health Social Work Team is a well-established team of experienced Social Workers and a Service Coordinator, delivering statutory social work interventions for adults of all ages living with a mental health condition. The team supports people with a wide variety of needs, whether this is during a brief period in someone’s life or on a longer-term basis. The team supports people across the entirety of the Calderdale footprint, including in a hospital, rehabilitation setting, supported living or care placement or their own homes. The Social Work role will be a key part in ensuring our continued success in fulfilling the Council’s statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014. The service is committed to helping people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their life and the successful applicant will work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to protect an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.
