Fitter (HGV Field Service Engineer)

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our transport team, responsible for maintaining our fleet of vehicles, including HGVs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive work, be proactive in manual fault-finding, and have good attention to detail.
Position: Fitter (HGV Field Service Engineer)
Location: Camberley depot, Surrey, with travel across the Waste Network Services catchment
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours
Salary: £55,000 per annum (including basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance, and bonuses)

About the Role
You will be responsible for a wide range of vehicle-related maintenance, including:
* Hydraulic and High-Pressure Jetting Systems: possess in-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, maintain and troubleshoot high-pressure jetting systems, and conduct regular inspections and testing.
* Vehicle Maintenance: conduct routine inspections and maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and jetting system issues, and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
* Repair and Troubleshooting: respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, utilise diagnostic tools, and collaborate with the team to analyse recurring problems.
* Legislation and Compliance: stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and implement safe working practices.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful, and have a strong background in commercial HGV vehicle servicing. You will need a Class B Driving Licence, fully recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent), and a Class C+E / HGV Class 2 Drivers Licence. IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are desirable, and previous water industry experience is preferred.
