Job Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Oak Tree School, Truro, TR4 9NH
Salary: £37,500 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 42.5 Hours per week; Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our close-knit team at Oak Tree School located in Truro.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operations of our buildings and grounds. The Facilities Manager will ensure that our work environment is safe, functional, and efficient, supporting both our staff and pupils.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the facilities team and provide day-to-day supervision for planned and responsible repair programmes, domestic tasks, and catering duties (service dependent).
* Ensure that the facilities provided are of a high standard at all times and that the facilities team exercise their full responsibilities, duties, and tasks.
* Coordinate relevant areas of capital and operational expenditure.
* Monitor and audit schedules of work and the quality of completed projects.
* Liaise with external providers to ensure cost-effective contracts are in place and reviewed regularly.
* Prioritise and organise planned and responsive workload for all areas of responsibility.
* Manage all on-call/out-of-hours response rotas to ensure satisfactory outcomes and be part of the on-call team.
* Obtain maximum economy and efficiency in all works.
* Ensure risk assessments and procedures are in place and in accordance with Company standards.
* Advise and support the team on issues related to Health and Safety, food hygiene, fire management, and building-related legislative matters.
* Develop maintenance programmes covering responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance and repair works.

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful Ofsted inspection, allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties, and related challenging behaviors. You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time for personal pursuits. The 4DWW is subject to successful probation and is not a contractual benefit.
