We are a friendly and supportive GP practice located in Rotherham seeking part time experienced receptionist/administrators. We have a number of posts available. It is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team. Predominately we are looking for someone who will work 25 hours per week. These positions are available at two sites.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the position include answering the telephone, working at the reception front desk, managing and booking appointments, SystemOne tasks, SystemOne scanning and attaching, handling emails, taking prescription requests, registering patients, and performing some general administrative duties. You will receive full support.
About us
We have 6 GP Partners and 5 salaried GPs, several trainee GPs, we have a practice nursing team, which consists of phlebotomist, HCAs, Nurse Associates and Practice Nurses. We work very closely with the PCN and the surgeries in the PCN. We have a population of 15000 patients over two sites. We are a friendly team that values, supports and develops their staff.
Job responsibilities
To undertake a variety of reception and administration duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice and provide a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.
Main Duties
Make new and follow-up patient appointments in a timely manner using the IT system. Receive and direct patients to the correct professional or service.
Act as chaperone.
Contact the interpretation service for patients as required.
Maintain accurate records of patient care in electronic format using the correct codes.
Prepare reception area for incoming colleagues, participate hand over between shifts.
Take telephone messages and general enquiries, direct as necessary to GP Process.
Incoming and outgoing correspondence, including managing workflow tasks.
Manage all queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficient manner.
Input data into the patient's healthcare records as necessary.
Support the team in the effective use of searches, audits and recalls.
Be aware of confidentiality and offer patients the opportunity to go to a confidentiality booth if they are distressed or imparting sensitive information.
General
Observe health and safety guidelines at all times.
Participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice.
Any other reasonable duties as necessary.
Qualifications
* GCSEs or equivalent qualifications with Grade B or above in English.
* Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral).

* Experience of working in a GP practice (Reception/Admin).
* Time Management and the ability to work to deadlines.

£12.21 an hour Minimum Wage, not AFG, aligned to Rotherham scale.
