Robert Half are looking for a experienced and qualified Financial Accountant for our client. We're seeking a skilled professional to join a dynamic, specialised engineering firm in South Sheffield, covering a maternity leave position. What You'll Do:
* Prepare, review, and manage financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory deadlines.
* Provide detailed analysis of financial data to support strategic business decisions.
* Lead tax reporting and compliance efforts, ensuring timely tax filings, accurate computations, and adherence to relevant regulations.
* Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide accounting insights and support within the engineering context.
* Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
What We're Looking For:
* Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA fully qualified.
* Experience: Recent, substantial experience as a Financial Accountant, including significant exposure to tax compliance and reporting. Industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, or similarly specialised sectors would be highly advantageous.
* In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS), and tax legislation.
* Strong technical skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and tax computations.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems tools.
