THIS IS A UK BASED POSITION, TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE ,IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT: 1. You have UK work experience with at least 6 months experience working as a support worker or in a similar position. 2. Your CV clearly shows your relevant experience and qualifications. 3. Experience with Brain Injury Support is advantageous 4. A full clean UK driver licence and access to a car that your able to use for work purposes. NSS PLUS LTD-NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life. We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping our clients access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary. Job Title: Male Support Worker Location: Lincoln, LN3 Hourly Rate: £12.50-£14 per hour depending on experience. Driver Essential? Yes Gender Preference:This role is open to Male applicants only. Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Monday: 6 hours - 10am to 4pm or 11am to 5pm or 12pm to 6pm or 1pm to 7pm Wednesday: 6 hours - 10am to 4pm or 11am to 5pm or 12pm to 6pm or 1pm to 7pm Friday: 6 hours - 10am to 4pm or 11am to 5pm or 12pm to 6pm or 1pm to 7pm About you-Essential Experience: Brain Injury experience. Preferable support or therapy assistant with experience of working with people who have ABI (Brain Injury). Someone with knowledge of OT and experience completing exercises and working towards achieving set goals would be ideal. What are the role's responsibilities? - To providing strategical support which may include helping with household tasks, supervising during personal care (in-terms of sequencing the tasks) and follow the timetable laid out by the involved clinicians. - To provide emotional support in case the individual gets frustrated due to lack of motivation and initiation. - To support and help with health care needs, including routine checks or administering medication - To encourage and support the development of new skills. - Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills. - Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all support meets the highest possible standards. - To assist individuals to take part in activities they enjoy. - To take the individual out to participate in outdoor activities as recommended by the involved clinicians. - To be flexible with start and finish times based on the individual’s progress and needs. In addition to the points explained below, the following may be required. As RM progresses, we may add or delete activities as required. The recruited individual will work closely with the Case Manager and the other clinicians involved in provided support to RM. - To take RM to hospital/rehabilitation appointments. - To encourage RM in following the strategies laid out by other clinicians. - To work with RM in following the timetable set up by the clinicians. - To encourage RM to initiate and carry on both personal and domestic activities of daily living. - To identify any safety issues which RM is not aware of during activities of daily living and attempt to highlight this. - To keep the case manager of any progress made and participate in MDT meetings as and when needed. - To keep a detailed record/documentation of activities done during the shift. Successful Candidates will: * Have access to full online yearly Training * Will be subject to Full Enhanced DBS * Competitive Hourly Rate * Gain Experience working with an MDT * Liability Insurance * Food/Drink shift Allowance * Partial Mileage and Travel time covered * Flexible working to meet your own requirements Successful candidate attributes: Abilities, Skills & Behaviours * A genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives of others with the ability to promote well-being through positive attitude and work practices * The ability to work on your own initiative and be a well-integrated team member. * Willingness to participate in continuing professional development * Flexible and positive approach to work patterns/schedules and business needs * Excellent punctuality, reliability and a strong desire to accomplish goals and objectives * Caring, friendly and empathetic approach to clients with the ability to build professional relationships * Ability to remain calm and collective in a difficult and pressurised situation * Good verbal and written communication skills * Able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills * Have basic computer skills (Word, Outlook & Excel) * Have at least six months experience of working in a support worker role or similar, in the past three years. * Must have a Full UK Driving License and access to your own car * Have Experience in the field of Psychology is advantageous * Willing to become self-employed We offer flexible work patterns - full time, part time, ad-hoc and a variety of shifts with our clients to suit any life style
