Position Overview
We are on the lookout for an experienced AV/RF Systems Design Engineer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, optimizing, and ensuring the technical integrity of advanced radio and communication solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) technologies while focusing on RF/AV system design excellence.
What You Will Do

Systems Design & Architecture:
o Develop and validate AV/RF system designs and Bills of Materials based on survey data, including GRID Mapping outputs.
o Create standardized DAS and RF design documentation, contributing to continuous improvement of design processes.
o Support the selection, testing, assembly, and standardization of technology components for radio and AV network systems.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and develop RF network architectures.
o
(Optional Upskill Area) Contribute to LMR system components such as fleet mapping, configuration, and RF spectrum analysis as development progresses.

Technical Configuration & Optimization:
o Support configuration and programming of RF/AV systems at a system level.
o Work with installation and sustainability partners on system testing and performance optimization.
o Run technical reports to assess system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure efficient operation.

Advanced Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
o Provide Tier 2/3 technical troubleshooting for AV/RF system issues.
o Diagnose equipment and system failures, escalating when necessary.
o Support RF engineering tasks related to outages or performance concerns.

Technical Review & Quality Assurance:
o Conduct peer reviews and quality checks of RF/AV system designs.
o Lead technical design reviews and produce accurate as-built configuration documentation.

Research & Development Support:
o Engage in R&D initiatives related to RF and communication technology evolution.
o Support hands-on technical evaluations, lab testing, and proof-of-concept deployments.
o Analyze feasibility, performance, and integration requirements for new technologies.
o Present technical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Documentation & Collaboration:
o Maintain clear documentation of system design parameters, RF coverage plots, and technical project information.
o Keep stakeholders updated on project progress and technical developments.
o Collaborate across engineering, sustainability, and operations teams to resolve system requirements and issues.
Essential Criteria
* 3–5 years of experience in an RF, AV, or systems design engineering role.
* Experience with analog/digital system design (e.g., DAS, RF distribution; familiarity with P25/DMR/TETRA is beneficial but not mandatory).
* Proficiency in using design and system configuration tools.
* Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.
Desired Criteria
* Experience with AutoCAD, BIM360/365, or Bluebeam.
* Exposure to LMR systems (or a strong motivation to upskill into LMR technology).
* RF design or software certification (e.g., iBwave or equivalent).
