As the lead veterinary surgeon, you will lead our friendly, talented team, oversee clinical standards, contribute to practice growth, and foster a supportive work culture. You will also retain hands-on clinical time, balancing leadership with clinical work.
Working Hours and Location
The role involves 40 hours over 4 days per week, on a rota basis, including 1 in 6 weekends, occasional on-call shifts, and planned bank holiday work.
Our practices are located in Leeds (3 in North Leeds and 1 in Ilkley), requiring only occasional holiday cover.
Responsibilities
* Consultations, client care, routine and complex procedures
* Triage, inpatient care, diagnostic tests (lab, radiography, CT)
* Work across surgical, medical, and emergency departments
* Species handled include cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, birds, and small mammals
Facilities and Environment
Our practice offers a varied caseload with high standards of care, including access to advanced diagnostics like CT, ultrasound, laparoscopy, and endoscopy. Facilities include consulting rooms, isolation ward, prep/theatre suite, and advanced monitoring equipment.
Location and Team
Located near Roundhay Park in North Leeds, our team comprises 19 vets, 19 RVNs, 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists, providing 24-hour care across our facilities. We prioritize work-life balance with carefully crafted rotas, regular team events, and professional development opportunities.
