Overview

Are you passionate about supporting victims of domestic abuse and making a real difference in their lives? Join our Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (DASV) Partnership team as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA). As an IDVA, you will provide crisis support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse, helping them increase their safety and make informed choices for their future. You will work closely with the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process and contribute to the wider strategic aims of the DASV Partnership.


Responsibilities

* Conduct risk assessments and manage high-priority cases.
* Provide tailored crisis support via phone or face-to-face.
* Advocate for victims with external agencies such as housing, legal services, and courts.


Requirements / Qualifications

* A minimum of A-level, NVQ3 or equivalent (essential); a degree or SafeLives IDVA qualification (desirable).
* Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, its impact, and relevant legislation.
* Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
* Ability to travel and work across the whole of Cambridgeshire.
* This role will also be subject to DBS check and police vetting.
