Enquiry Officer - Criminal Justice (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract) Department Criminal Justice Location Kidlington, Home Address (Hybrid) Rank/Grade TVP Broad Band 3F Salary Band 3F, circa £31,245 per annum, plus benefits Part/Full Time Full Time Type of Contract Secondment/Fixed Term Contract Document Attachment Instance 1 Document Attachment Instance 1 Document Attachment Instance 1 Document Attachment Instance 1 Job Advert Secondment/Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027 An opportunity has arisen for a PIP1 accredited investigator to join Criminal Justice Services in our busy traffic department on an FTC/Secondment basis. You will be responsible for investigating low-level traffic matters reported by members of the public via our Single Online Home portal and/or offences committed arising out of minor road traffic collisions where damage has been caused or minor injuries sustained. An ability to obtain statements and complete casefiles to National File Standard is essential as is an interest in traffic related matters. Good communication skills are required as you will be required to liaise with members of the public in person or on the telephone in order to communicate outcomes. You will be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent with proven customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels. The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure is essential as well as the ability to learn and use IT packages effectively. You will be able to prioritise and manage your own time, have recent and relevant experience in an investigator type role together with an understanding of relevant legislation. You must have the capability to travel to different locations across the force; due to this a full UK driving licence is considered essential. If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections. Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
