An established B2B travel organisation specialising in European group and coach tours is looking to appoint a Purchasing Manager to join its London-based team.
This is a replacement role, taking over from a long-standing team member, offering stability, structure, and the opportunity to step into a well-respected position within the business. Junior profiles with the right industry background will also be considered.
The Role
This is a hands‑on purchasing and contracting role focused on hotels and ground services across Europe, supporting group travel programmes primarily for international clients.
Key responsibilities include:
* Contracting and negotiating with hotels, transport providers, and attractions
* Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
* Attending UK & European tourism workshops and trade events (London, Paris, Italy, etc.)
* Overseas travel during key periods (typically June–September)
* Market analysis, rate negotiations, and competitor benchmarking
* Working closely with internal operations teams to ensure seamless tour delivery
About You
* 5+ years’ experience in travel, tourism, or hospitality
* Background in purchasing, contracting, or supplier negotiation
* Fluent French & English (additional European languages such as Dutch or German highly desirable)
* Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills
* Comfortable with face‑to‑face supplier meetings
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Full, clean UK driving licence required
* Happy working in a fully office‑based role
