Our Apprenticeship Programme
The Linde Material Handling (MH) Engineering Apprenticeship Programme aims to develop our own top-tier engineers to support our demand for field, workshop, and site-based engineers. The main goal is to learn how to become a fully competent Linde engineer by applying college learning and demonstrating this knowledge to mentors, the Apprentice Development Officer, and college assessors. You will learn to inspect, maintain, service, and repair all types of material handling equipment, including forklift trucks and warehouse equipment.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Engineer based in the DE5/DE55/DE75/NG15/NG16/NG17 postcode areas. You should be passionate about engineering, eager to learn, motivated to succeed, and interested in joining a multinational engineering company as part of the next generation of engineers.
The programme lasts three years, culminating in a Level 3 apprenticeship in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering. Throughout this period, you will be supported by a dedicated Mentor and an Apprentice Development Officer, with training combining college and on-the-job learning. You will learn to inspect, maintain, service, and repair material handling equipment.
Travel to college, including overnight stays, will be funded, with details provided upon offer. Accommodation and meals will also be covered.
Upon successful completion, you will be a fully qualified Linde engineer and ready to start your career with a market leader.
Your duties and responsibilities:
* Attend all required training courses (internal & external)
* Pass all knowledge block training tests at college
* Pass End Point Assessment for Level 3 in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering
* Internal assessments on safety, product knowledge, and diagnostics
* Complete online tests and assessments within deadlines
* Maintain your e-Portfolio to college and ADO standards
* Work closely with the training organization to achieve your qualification
* Develop competence in preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on Linde products
Tasks and Qualifications:
To succeed, you need a passion for engineering, motivation, and a willingness to learn. Good communication skills, confidence, pride in your work, and adaptability are essential. We also value a positive attitude and a desire to promote the Linde brand.
Qualifications required:
* GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English (or predicted grades) or a National 5 in Scotland
* Interest in engineering and technology
