As a National Waiting Times Centre, We Serve Patients From Across NHS Scotland. Our Orthopaedics Department Is Now One Of The Largest Arthroplasty Units In Europe, With 2 Robots, Performing Over 6,000 hip and knee replacements annually 600 foot and ankle procedures 420 hand surgeries Nearly 200 other orthopaedic operations (STK / ACL) In addition, we carry out more than 1,000 general and colorectal surgeries each year, including major open, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted procedures. We’ve recently opened a state-of-the-art Surgical Centre, featuring five new laminar flow theatres, significantly expanding our elective capacity. As a Specialty Doctor In Anaesthesia, You Will Provide anaesthesia for orthopaedics and general surgery Support the Acute Pain Service (APS) Contribute to the Orthopaedic Pre-operative Assessment Clinic Opportunity to engage in Quality Improvement and Clinical Audit projects Gain valuable experience and professional development opportunities to support your career progression in the specialty.
