About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to join our Health in Justice (HiJ) Musculoskeletal (MSK) team on a part‑time basis at HMP Preston, HMP Kirkham and HMP Lancaster Farms.
This role is 12 hours a week at HMP Preston, 8 hours a month at HMP Kirkham and 4 hours a month at HMP Lancaster Farms. There is no on‑call or weekend work, allowing for a strong work‑life balance. Salary is between £40,000 – £49,000 pro‑rata depending on experience.
What you'll be doing
As Our Podiatrist, you will provide outstanding evidence‑based care, advanced assessment and treatment of patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentations. You will determine clinical diagnosis and treatment, maintain records as an autonomous practitioner, assess and treat a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery. You will deliver non‑judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries, playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies and procedures. You will inspire excellence in your colleagues and motivate the wider team to identify patients at high risk, forging strong working relationships with the Practice Plus Group healthcare team and the wider Health in Justice Service. You will be responsible for your own caseload and waiting list and work as an autonomous practitioner.
You will have
* HCPC registration, with proven post‑registration experience of assessing and treating a range of conditions
* Experience in assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery
* Self‑motivation with excellent communication and organisational skills
* Evidence of CPD and work within the MSK speciality
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Excellent IT skills in MS Word, Outlook
* Experience of electronic notes systems (preferred but not essential)
