Eaton Syalon are partnering exclusively with a growing and well established business to recruit a Product & Category Manager. You must be able to drive to be considered. The role is based in Nottinghamshire and is easily commutable from Newark, Bingham, Lowdham, West Bridgford and nearby areas.
This is a pivotal role within the business, sitting at the centre of product, supplier and commercial decision-making. You’ll take ownership of a key product area, with full responsibility for how it is developed, positioned and performs in the market.
This isn’t a role focused purely on maintaining products it’s about shaping, evolving and driving a category forward.
The Role
You will take full ownership of a product category, managing everything from initial concept through to launch and ongoing performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the end-to-end product lifecycle, from idea and development through to launch and review
* Driving new product development, identifying opportunities to enhance and expand the range
* Working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners, building strong relationships and negotiating on cost and product
* Developing and delivering category plans, ensuring the range remains competitive and commercially strong
* Collaborating with Sales and Marketing to support product launches and optimise performance
* Monitoring product performance, using data and insight to make informed decisions
* Leading, coaching and developing a small product team
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring together product expertise and commercial thinking.
You might currently be working as a:
* Product Manager
* Category Manager (in a similar role within consumer goods, retail, manufacturing)
You will ideally have:
* Experience managing the full product lifecycle
* Strong involvement in new product development and product launches
* Experience working with suppliers or factories
* A commercially minded approach, with confidence in pricing and negotiation
* The ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders
* Previous experience mentoring or managing others (or ready to step into this)
