Job Title: Social Media Editor Location: DailyMail Headquarters - London, UK Position: Permanent DailyMail, the world’s largest English-language newspaper website with over 220 million unique monthly visitors globally, is looking for a talented Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading social team. Responsibilities: ● Assist the Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all DailyMail social feeds and channels. ● Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors. ● Cover live events, TV shows and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms. ● Creating captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our 22 million Facebook audience. ● An eye for identifying new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the DailyMail brand. ● Working across a seven-day rota and covering live-events as they happen. ● Monitoring article traffic using social media analysis tools and reporting back to the wider team. Qualifications: ● Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable. ● Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics. ● Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop. ● Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions. ● Excellent written and spoken communication skills. ● Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, Whatsapp and other websites. ● Must be able to come to the office four to five days per week.
