Job Description
SLR is a leading international multidisciplinary environmental consultancy working across six key sectors: Built Environment, Industry, Infrastructure, Power, Mining & Minerals, and Oil & Gas. We have a large and successful planning and EIA team that operates throughout the UK, Ireland, and internationally.
We are seeking an EIA consultant who can join as a Graduate or with some postgraduate experience to support our EIA and Planning team. The role is based in Manchester or Edinburgh, focusing on projects mainly within the Built Environment, Power (including Renewable Energy), and Waste and Minerals sectors. This position offers the chance to gain broad project experience across the UK and Ireland, with mentorship from senior staff involved in EIA projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will engage in environmental assessment and project management activities, supporting project delivery across various sectors. They will shadow senior team members, including Technical Directors, and participate actively in EIA projects. This role provides a dynamic environment for professional growth within a forward-thinking planning team.
SLR is adopting a hybrid working model. While flexibility is offered, the candidate will need to work part of the week at one of our hub offices to benefit from mentorship and team collaboration with professionals across multiple disciplines.

About you
Candidates should demonstrate:
* An environmental degree or postgraduate qualification, or be working towards one
* Good knowledge of EIA Regulations and the planning system
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in report writing
* Ability to work as part of a team and manage consultants if necessary
* Initiative and involvement in business development or industry events
* Computer skills including MS Office, Adobe, GIS; InDesign and MS Project are desirable
* Graphics and report presentation skills are a plus
* Excellent time management
