We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.
We are looking for a Lead Test Analyst to join us in Edinburgh. Working in Mylo, you will be responsible for driving end‑to‑end testing across the Mylo mobile app delivery lifecycle.
In this role, you will oversee test planning, execution, and continuous improvement across functional, non‑functional, automation and BPP test phases. Working closely with feature teams, business stakeholders and technical specialists, you will ensure high‑quality mobile app releases, support a shift‑left testing culture and champion automation-first practices.
The Lead Test Analyst (LTA) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability and successful delivery of the Mylo mobile app. You will be responsible for leading test planning and execution across all test phases, supporting the Programme Test Manager and ensuring that Mylo consistently delivers high‑quality mobile experiences to customers. You will drive strategic test activities, contribute to process improvement initiatives and embed best‑practice testing approaches across feature teams.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring consistent, high‑quality service through robust test practices, accurate defect management, and well-controlled test environments.
* Configuring and optimising test systems, data, and tools, recommending improvements to enhance test efficiency and quality.
* Mentoring and supporting the Test Analyst community, promoting professional development and knowledge‑sharing.
* Contributing to the Mylo Testing Community of Practice and supporting the Programme Test Manager through delegated responsibilities.
* Providing accurate test effort estimates and promote "shift-left" and automation-first approaches across delivery teams.
* Ensuring all test stages, requirements and dependencies are properly considered during planning.
* Forecasting testing needs early and monitor feature team progress, identifying corrective actions where needed.
* Working with Business Change, developers, business analysts and project managers to define test scope and align on delivery expectations.
* Participating in planning events to advocate for testing considerations and risks.
* Supporting the implementation of strategic test actions across all Mylo teams.
* Collaborating with business areas to ensure complete end‑to‑end testing of mobile journeys and impacted processes.
* Maintaining BPP checklists, ensure complete requirement coverage, and support early engagement through shift-left principles.
* Identifying automation opportunities across test phases and partner with Automation Enablement to embed automation-first practices.
* Aligning with Performance Test teams to ensure non-functional requirements (NFRs) are considered early in delivery.
* Supporting consistent adoption of performance-testing strategies and processes across Mylo teams.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience with large-scale application development and/or testing, ideally within mobile applications (iOS/Android).
* Strong understanding of modern mobile app delivery practices including microservices, APIs, cloud-native architecture and mobile test strategies.
* Hands-on experience with test management tools such as qTest, JIRA, and Confluence.
* Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience and exposure to Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
* Ability to work under pressure with strong decision‑making, prioritisation, and risk assessment skills.
* Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, including external suppliers.
* Familiarity with mobile app test strategies such as real device testing, emulation/simulation and mobile app release pipelines.
What's in it for you?
* We're serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we'll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we'll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that's 7% from you and 13% from us).
* A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
* 36 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)
