Job Title: Engineering Planner

Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours
Main purpose of the role:
Responsible for the short to midterm management of the Engineering Planning function in Kanes. To deliver an efficient plan using a Computer Management System (CMMS). Deliverables include, labour scheduling, parts on time and upkeep of the engineering KPI’s.
Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the day-to-day Planning function
* Responsible for the improvement and upkeep of the CMMS
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Environmental Legislation & Company Policy, and demonstrate best practice ways of working
* To ensure all appropriate specifications and standards are available for reference and fully implemented
* To ensure all jobs of work are completed to an excellent standard in a timely manner, and each is accurately recorded according to an agreed methodology which is consistently applied across all facilities.
* Review job requests daily to identify any areas where additional support is required or potential areas for improvement
* To ensure planned preventive maintenance is carried out as per schedules, and is accurately recorded and managed according to an agreed standard and methodology which is consistently applied across all facilities
* Regularly review the planned preventive maintenance records to spot trends and identify areas for improvement, raising these to the Engineering Management Team
* Write/coordinate new PPM’s as and when necessary (e.g. when new equipment is installed)
* Liaise with production on a day-to-day basis, supporting the Engineering/Site Service Managers to provide a timely and effective service to operations, and ensuring that there is a robust and routine engineering management presence throughout the facilities.
* Liaise with supply chain and the planning function
* Where necessary escalate issues to Production Management team to resolve problems and drive any necessary changes
* Review the routine site fabric audit to close out all non-conformances and fabric jobs
* Deliver projects (small works contractors)
* Analysis and review at a weekly KPI meeting, and use this data as a basis to manage the team to drive continuous improvement
* Organise weekend working for all engineers, to plan and manage work schedules and labour across the site
* Liaise with stock-management service provider to ensure that the on-site stock holding is appropriate to meet the needs of the business
* Uphold and apply all current people management policies and procedures, and manage the team of engineers with a fair, consistent and engaging management style.
* Identify, set, agree and monitor people development objectives so that the engineering skill base reflects the requirements of the business
* Ensure that all Engineers are fully trained to meet statutory and customer COP requirements, and make recommendations for skills and development training
* Organise apprentice work program on a month-to-month basis
* Stay within the budget set for you & monitor spends
* To be involved in issuing and monitoring permits to work
* Create weekly plans with 2 weeks in advance
* Create an Audit ready culture and have always up to date records

Qualifications:
* No formal engineering qualification required
* CMMS Superuser training or similar
* Computer knowledge
* Engineering knowledge is desirable
