Overview
Electronic Systems Test Engineer – Defence Sector: A leading international defence technology organisation, consistently recognised as a top employer on Glassdoor, is seeking an Electronic Systems Test Engineer to join their high-performing team in Stevenage.
This role provides the opportunity to work on high-integrity, safety- and performance-critical electronic systems, contributing to projects that are trusted internationally while developing both technical and analytical expertise.
Responsibilities
* Taking ownership of electronic system test and testability, ensuring all designs are verifiable and robust.
* Specifying factory, in-service, and built-in test routines, and ensuring compliance with system-level test requirements.
* Analysing system performance to determine test coverage and diagnostic procedures, supporting the identification of gaps and optimising test strategies.
* Collaborating closely with design and manufacturing teams to ensure systems are fully testable and performance is maintained throughout development.
* Generating lower-level test requirements for design teams, including test access, timing for built-in tests, and factory test functionality.
* Working alongside senior engineers to make trade-offs between test coverage and cost, ensuring efficient, high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
* Substantial experience in electrical or electronic engineering, with strong knowledge of analogue electronics, digital electronics, microprocessor systems, or electronics testing.
* Proven ability to gather requirements, oversee technical projects, and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
* Experience in designing, analysing, or validating complex electronic systems is highly desirable.
Package & Working Model
* Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
* Onsite in Stevenage
