Offer description

With the launch of two further Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Peterborough and East Cambridgeshire in line with the NHS Long Term Plan, we are looking to recruit two more Senior Wellbeing Practitioners.

If you have any further enquiries, please do get in touch. We look forward to speaking with you.

NB: There is the expectation that candidates will be registered (or in the process of registering) with the BPS or the BABCP.

As a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, the successful candidate will work closely with the MHST Clinical and Team Lead and Senior Clinicians to ensure the success of the MHST.

Main duties include:

1. Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people and their families in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
2. Providing case management and clinical supervision to EMHPs and Trainee EMHPs under the direction of the Senior Clinicians and Clinical Leads.
3. Offering evidence-based practice in guided self-help, CBT, child and adolescent mental health practice, and Whole School Approaches to mental health.
4. Clinically developing group work for children/young people and training for teaching staff, including training and mentoring EMHP colleagues to improve the quality of group work and training provided.

They will join a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, and ways of working are actively encouraged.

Furthermore, during the first year, the post holders will attend the University of East Anglia's Supervisor course, likely a mix of online and in-person delivery.

Rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission, we are proud to provide high-quality, innovative services across most of the east of England, enabling people to receive care closer to home and live healthier lives.

There's one reason why our services are outstanding - our staff, who have rated us highly in the national staff survey for eight consecutive years.

If you share our passion for innovative, high-quality care delivery, please submit your application and join us on our exciting journey as a leading-edge community provider. We welcome all applicants and prioritize staff engagement and development.

Since January 2020, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust launched two MHSTs in Huntingdon and Cambridge. Since then, ten more have been launched, with two more planned, totaling 14 MHSTs by 2026. By 2030, all schools across England and Wales will have access to an MHST, as outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan, making this an exciting, expanding early intervention service.

This project is a collaboration between NHS England, Health Education England, and the Department for Education, following the 2017 Green Paper on transforming children and young people's mental health provision. It is part of a rollout to improve access to mental health care for young people.

You will join a supportive service with 25 MHSTs across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Norfolk, providing a strong support system. The MHSTs operate within CCS NHS Trust's Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service.

The successful candidate will provide case management and clinical supervision to Trainee EMHPs (and EMHPs once qualified) under the guidance of Senior Clinicians and the Clinical Lead. They will manage caseloads and deliver mental health services to children and young people with mild to moderate issues, including assessment and formulation of mental health difficulties.

Additionally, they will offer evidence-based practices such as guided self-help, CBT, and Whole School Approaches, and develop group work and training initiatives for children and staff, including mentoring colleagues to enhance quality.

Are you an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a background in MHSTs, seeking career progression into a senior role?
