About the Role
We are seeking a caring and proactiveEYFS SEN Teaching Assistant with Makaton Experience to join our inclusive primary school community in Camden from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting young children with special educational needs (SEN) in the Early Years Foundation Stage, who is confident using Makaton and comfortable providing personal care.
Key Responsibilities - EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant with Makaton Experience
* Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for children in EYFS, adapting activities to meet individual needs as outlined in their EHCP
* Use Makaton to aid communication and encourage pupil engagement
* Assist with personal care routines, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
* Support teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
* Promote inclusion, independence, and self-esteem among pupils
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
* Help maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
The Ideal Candidate Will Have - EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant with Makaton Experience
* Experience working with children in EYFS, particularly those with SEN
* Proficiency in using Makaton for communication support
* Willingness and ability to provide personal care as needed
