The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised.

The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.

Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we'll need you to bring

1. SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role
2. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills
4. Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment
5. Ability to work unsupervised
6. Actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development
7. Working knowledge of basic information technology
8. Be willing to work a 12.5-hour shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and public holidays

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

9. Previous experience within NHS
10. Have an interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics

Please note if a part time post is accepted, the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Trauma and Orthopaedics Ward 14 within University Hospital Wishaw

The working pattern for this role is: 11.5 hour shifts both day and night, backshifts, weekend shifts, work over bank holidays
