Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to support our 0- Health and Wellbeing Service and to work closely other agencies to support the needs of
children and their families Wallasey and Wirral Wide. Working across the locality teams to identify health needs early and support with brief
interventions as part of the Healthy Child Programme.

Main duties of the job

• To develop the 0- Health and Wellbeing services working in partnership with the Local Authority and partner
agencies.
• To support delivery of identified packages of care, providing support and advice to clients.
• To deliver a range of health promotion, advice and support to parents.
• To contribute to the development of best practice and facilitate shared learning to develop services and initiatives that meet local needs, in
relation to aims and objectives of Wirral Community Trust.
• To develop effective links with key people in delivering services to enable people to improve their own health.

Qualifications and professional training

Essential criteria

1. NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Public Health
2. Brief Intervention/Motivational Interviewing trained
3. Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable criteria

4. Health and Social Care Foundation Degree

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria

5. Substantial experience in a health related post
6. Experience of working with children and young people
7. Experience of working in the community
8. Experience of integrated working and liaising with other agencies
9. Awareness of local health priorities
10. Experience of delivering/facilitating activities to individuals and groups
11. Knowledge of safeguarding issues
12. Awareness of public health audits, data collection and report writing

Desirable criteria

13. Experience of delivering health improvement training and advice to individuals and groups

Skills and attributes

Essential criteria

14. Good verbal, non verbal and written communication skills
15. Ability to use email, internet and word processing software
16. Ability to work as part of a team and independently
