The Opportunity
A well-established global engineering business within the recycling and waste processing sector is seeking an experienced
Field Service Technician
to join its UK service team.
This is a hands-on role supporting customers across the UK, focusing on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of mobile hydraulic shredding and material processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, and repair mobile hydraulic shredding equipment
* Carry out preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown support
* Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
* Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
* Maintain service documentation and technical reports
* Provide professional on-site customer support
* Travel nationally to customer sites (some overnight stays required)
What We're Looking For
* 3+ years' experience servicing heavy plant, recycling equipment, or hydraulic machinery
* Strong hydraulic diagnostics and mechanical repair skills
* Basic electrical troubleshooting capability (12V/24V systems)
* Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable (not essential):
* Experience with shredders, recycling or material processing equipment
* Hydraulic certification or fluid power training
* PLC diagnostic exposure
* Welding/fabrication skills
* Experience with HGV or mobile plant systems
