We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially within a mainstream secondary setting.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
* Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects
* Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support strategies
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
* Encouraging social interaction and confidence building
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people with Autism (school-based experience desirable)
* Understanding of ASC strategies and inclusive practice
* Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
