Support Worker, Merthyr Tydfil, £ p/h
We are seeking a kind, reliable, and motivated Agency Support Worker to join our team, supporting individuals with learning disabilities within their homes, in the community, and across different services as required. The role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and choice, while delivering person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
5. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks, using a person-centred approach to ensure their needs are met
6. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
7. Help clients maintain their independence and well-being by supporting them in community activities and appointments
8. Safely assist clients with mobility using Moving & Handling techniques, ensuring their safety and dignity at all times
9. Support individuals who may display challenging behaviour, responding calmly and effectively to ensure a safe and positive environment
10. Support clients in achieving their goals and aspirations, promoting a sense of purpose and fulfilment
Required Skills & Experience
11. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (preferable)
12. 6 months UK experience in care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities
13. Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality
14. A team player who’s also confident working independently
15. Reliable, flexible, and committed to providing high-quality care
