Overview
We are looking to appoint a Learning Resources Assistant to join our Learning Resources team, which is part of the Welfare and Skills team. This permanent, part-time, term-time only position is 16 hours per week: Mondays 8:30am – 14:30pm and Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30am – 13:30pm. The post will commence as soon as possible.
salary and hours: The salary banding for this post is 3 – 6, ranging from £23,807 to £24,575 per annum. The actual starting salary for this post is £23,807 and the pro-rata salary is £8,928 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Support a friendly and professional service as much of the work will be student facing.
* Demonstrate strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
* Contribute to administrative duties within the Learning Resources team.
The Learning Resource Centre
The Learning Resource Centre is located at both the University Road and Regent Road campuses. It provides a range of study areas and facilities to encourage students to make the best use of their study time outside lessons. The team offers individual study skills consultations and helps students conduct research and use facilities effectively. The LRC has evolved to respond to student needs, including an online digital learning resource offer.
Study facilities include computers and group study tables with Wi-Fi. The Study Centre also offers a large open access area with 131 networked computers, access to printers and photocopiers (including colour copying). Silent Study Areas are adjacent to the LRCs, housing the reference and loanable book collection for revision and study aids. Reading areas are available for relaxation with magazines and a large fiction collection. The LRC team also supports the development of WQE Online, the College’s VLE site for students.
