Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for someone to join our friendly hard working kitchen team here at Loch Arthur, producing delicious meals and snacks for our café, and goods to sell in our shop and deli.
We cook from scratch, using Loch Arthur's own produce and organic ingredients whenever possible. Our kitchen team includes adults with learning disabilities.
This is a full-time position, but we would consider applicants who can work a minimum of 3 days per week
While previous experience in a fast paced, productive kitchen would be an advantage this is not essential. However, the ability to cope with the pressures of service is essential.
As well as this, we especially look for people with a strong interest in cooking and wholesome food, and who demonstrate patience and respect with customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
* Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all food products.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during peak times.
Skills
* Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not essential.
* A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
* Basic skills in meal preparation and an understanding of various cooking methods.
