SEN Learning Support Assistant | 1:1 | Year 1/2 – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN school on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time role starting 04/05/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This role would suit a patient, supportive and resilient individual who is confident working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1/2 pupil with additional needs. The position requires someone who can build strong, consistent relationships and support engagement, learning, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support a Year 1/2 pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
* Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
* Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual needs
* Encourage positive engagement, independence and confidence in learning
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team
* Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
What You’ll Bring
* Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN setting
* A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
* Knowledge of primary education expectations within Year 1/2
* Ability to work effectively as part of a wider support and teaching team
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Pay
£15.46 per hour
