Job Title: Depot Mechanical Engineer
Location: Sherburn In Elmet
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime available)
£25,600 - £28,288 depending on experience.
Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Depot Engineer to join our Major Repairs Team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and refurbishing a range of depot equipment to the highest standards. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, a methodical approach to repairs, and a strong sense of responsibility within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and undertake major in-house repairs on various types of equipment.
* Conduct planned and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment remains operational.
* Manage and maintain accurate stock levels of spare parts and materials.
* Log all parts used via the mobile tablet system for accurate record-keeping.
* Job Processing & Reporting
* Accurately process and update job details and repair statuses using the works mobile tablet.
* Support Across Sites
* Provide flexible support to other depots or operational areas when required.
* Workplace Maintenance
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
* Assist with additional tasks or projects as directed by the Foreman or Depot Manager.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar equipment repair and maintenance role.
* High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work.
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and management.
* Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive and solution-focused approach to tasks.
* Experience using mobile tablet systems for job tracking and reporting.
* Background in a similar industry or experience with specialist equipment.
