We are seeking an experienced Director of People to be the custodian of our company culture, values, and an inclusive work environment, ensuring our people centric approach is woven into the very fabric of our international operations. The Director will lead a diverse and multi-site HR function, focusing on proactive, strategic initiatives that drive employee engagement, organisational transformation, and operational excellence across the UK and our overseas teams.
Main Responsibilities
* Strategic People Leadership: Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive People Strategy that supports the company's growth and vision. This includes managing a full-cycle HR directorate that delivers key services relating to payroll, benefits, and administrative functions with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Organisational Development & Change Management: Lead on transformational programmes, structural changes, and the roll-out of new policies and procedures to ensure internal parity and best practice. Coach and mentor business leaders in managing people-related issues and optimising team performance.
* Talent, Culture & Engagement: Ensure the company's values and behaviours are embedded. Lead the Employee Engagement Strategy, including the deployment of measurement processes like the Annual Employee Opinion Survey, to foster a positive and productive culture. Oversee talent management, including formal annual appraisal review, and the development of robust training and development programmes across all levels of the business in the UK and Europe.
* Inclusion & Diversity: Develop and lead a comprehensive EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) strategy, identifying training needs, and benchmarking best practices to ensure an equitable and inclusive workplace.
* Remuneration and Reward: Benchmark remuneration and reward scales to remain competitive and make targeted interventions to address any anomalies. Develop and deploy structural changes to ensure parity of pay and conditions internally, fostering fairness and consistency.
* Commercial & Legal Acumen: Provide strategic oversight on HR aspects of commercial tenders and lead due diligence on people-related matters for potential acquisitions. Ensure the business is compliant with all relevant employment law, mitigating risk through effective management of grievances and disciplinaries.
Reporting to Chief Executive with accountability for:
* The development and deployment of CMAC's People Strategy across UK and Europe.
* Line management of the HR/Payroll Teams in both UK and Europe.
* KPIs relating to People, including Attendance, EDI targets, retention and employee satisfaction.
* Managing an HR department to deliver key services relating to HR administration.
* Reducing risk to the business, through disciplinaries, grievances and industrial tribunal outcomes.
* Developing a positive company culture, including leading on the creation and roll out of Values and Behaviours.
* Creating and updating key Company policies.
* Maximising operational synergies in relation to HR across the CMAC Group and identifying ways to develop greater uniformity of purpose and process throughout UK and overseas.
* Developing and training employees, including through oversight of processes and policies to measure performance and career development.
* Ensuring fairness and consistency around individual's terms and conditions.
* Owning the Resourcing Plan, identifying and addressing gaps.
* Acting as a confidant for the management team, dealing with concerns and issues with the highest levels of sensitivity and confidentiality.
* Ensure synergies and best practice is reaped through working effectively with other HR partners across ComfortDelGro.
* Lead on due diligence relating to people-aspects of any potential acquisition.
* Contribute to mobilisation and policy aspects of commercial tenders.
Personal Attributes
* 5+ years in a senior HR role, ideally at Director level.
* Experience in leading an HR directorate that supports a multi-site, international operation.
* Background in developing transformation programmes.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience of operating at Executive level within a large subsidiary organisation and working with senior leaders within a multi-national parent company.
* Qualification in HR management (e.g. CIPD Level 7).
* Track record in developing and implementing EDI strategies and action plans.
* Experience in creating, updating and applying HR policies and procedures.
* Background in creating multi-faceted training and development programmes, up to and including for senior leaders.
* Strong understanding of employment law.
* Customer-centric.
* Role-modelling behaviours, capable of inspiring people and also dealing with information and issues with utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.
* Experience of helping support teams in mobilising large new contracts.
* Experience of working in a culturally diverse background, showing sensitivity, appreciation and an understanding of different cultures.
* Mobile, with the ability to travel extensively in UK and overseas.

Pay: £80,000.00-£120,000.00 per year
