Business Administrator role overview:
The Business Administrator role offers an excellent entry-level opportunity for a school leaver, graduate, or someone with prior administrative experience. The role provides first-hand exposure to a growing department at BSRIA, and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy on tasks and a professional telephone manner to support effective communication.
Responsibilities include handling customer communications via phone and email, following up with clients to obtain documentation of drawings and building specifications, processing and chasing purchase orders, managing invoice queries and invoicing, as well as coordinating test bookings for site visits.
What you'll do as a Business Administrator:
* Provide administrative support the ensure operational policies, processes, and strategic initiatives run efficiency.
* Coordinate projects, schedules, documentation, and customer platforms to ensure smooth delivery of services.
* Manage customer communications (calls, emails, queries), including follow-ups for surface area drawings, building specifications, purchase orders, and invoice resolution.
* Oversee site bookings for a range of specialisms within the business.
* Maintain accurate records, databases, and financial data to support reporting, forecasting, and timely invoicing.
* Liaise with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met, feedback is addressed, and relationships are well-managed.
* Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements, including the use of new business tools, software, and automation.
To be considered for the Business Administrator role:
* School leavers, graduates and / or university leavers looking to get first hand experience within an administrative position.
* Previous business administration experience is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in all tasks.
* Ability to work with a sense of urgency and manage multiple priorities.
* Confident communicator (verbal & written).
* Organised & proactive, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
* Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team and liaising with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
* Enthusiasm for developing skills in administration, project coordination, and operational support.
