Job Title: Flexographic Print Operator\n\nLocation: Manchester \n\nHours: (48 hours a week)\n\no Mon - Weds 18:30 - 06:45 and Thurs 17:45 - 05:00\n\nSalary: Dependent On Experience\n\nAbout my Client: \n\nEstablished in 1988, this is a leading plastic polythene packaging company are now looking for a Flexographic Print Operative to join their team due to recent growth and expansion.\n\nPurpose of a Flexographic Print Operator:\n\nYour role is to set-up and operate the flexographic printing press to print onto the polythene film according to the specification as described on the job sheet. You must ensure that any non-conforming products are removed, and optimum productivity is achieved whilst adhering to all health and safety requirements. You must always work within the safe operating procedures.\n\nIt is your responsibility to correctly label and present the printed film reels to the conversion department on time and in line with the planning schedule.
Working as a team you are to assist in maintaining the optimum production speeds of the machines, reduce change overtime and minimise scrap produced. It is your duty to report any machine maintenance issues to your supervisor to ensure optimum productivity is always achieved. \n\nKey responsibilities of a Flexographic Print Operator:\n\nRunning a Ofem and an NG8\nEnsure health & safety requirements within the departments are adhered to at all times.\nTo ensure that all print personnel are operating in a safe manner\nTo be responsible for the operation of the press\nTo minimise downtime and waste within the print department departments\nTo develop the efficiency of machine performance by effective trouble shooting and implementing improvements.\nTo be responsible for the consumable items used within the print department.\nThe effective supervision of the print assistant within the operations, ensuring that all staff have the skills necessary to complete their roles to a high and safe standard.\nTake due care and attention of equipment and resources with particular regard to Health & Safety, hygiene, good housekeeping and basic maintenance.\nTo ensure that Health, Safety and Hygiene procedures are followed at all times, including compliance with BRC criteria.\nCarry out effective shift handovers to ensure continued quality and avoid unnecessary downtime issues\nEnsure press speeds are constantly optimised \n\nSkills required for a Flexographic Print Operator: \n\nFlexographic printing experience is essential, particularly printing labels and tags\nExperience of embellishments such as cold foil, de-lam/re-lam\nGood problem solving skills with a pro-active, 'can do' attitude\nA team player with good communication skills\nExcellent attention to detail and able to follow processes and procedures \n\nExperience required for a Flexographic Print Operator: \n\nMinimum of 3 years Flexographic Printing experience is essential\nExperience running Ofem and an NG8 machines or similar.
