City Walk-in Centre is recruiting an ACP for twelve months fixed term to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the transition of the service into an Urgent Treatment Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to practice at an advanced level in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to work autonomously, be highly motivated and deliver an advanced level of clinical practice within the recognised remit, working within the local and nationally agreed frameworks for Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP). This post requires the post holder to have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and able to manage challenging and difficult situations
The UTC service delivers care across Liverpool sites. The service is open from 8.00 – 20.00, 7 days per week and offers flexibility with shift patterns.

Responsibilities
* Act as the Advanced Clinical Practitioner on duty to advise and support clinical decision making and function as the point of escalation and shift coordinator.
* Take responsibility for ensuring patient flow throughout the department is smooth and ensures good patient experience.
* Deliver and participate in the clinical care of patients accessing the walk‑in centre.
* Prioritise workload and clinical interventions as appropriate.
* Provide a level of advanced and comprehensive health assessment based on a specialist body of.
* To appropriately assess, examine, investigate, diagnose, and treat patients, resulting in the safe management and appropriate referral or discharge of patients.
* Ensure patients are informed and consent is gained prior to treatment, investigation, and management as appropriate.
* Take responsibility for the supervision/development of junior members of the team.
* Identify the need for appropriate diagnostic tests, interpret the results and act on any results requiring clinical intervention or management.
* Identify and intervene proactively where circumstances contribute to an unsafe environment for patients, staff or relatives and escalateguarantee to health and safety team/safeguarding team.
* Share knowledge and expertise, acting as an expert resource to others across primary and secondary care as appropriate.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of systems and processes that facilitate patient flow, facilitating timely discharge and preventing hospital admission.
* Improve the quality of the patient experience by identifying and meeting the individual clinical needs of patients including issues pertaining to child protection & vulnerable adults.
* Maintain up to date patient records in accordance with Trust policy and professional bodies standards.
* Adapt specialist clinical knowledge and skills to different clinical settings and influence service delivery and patient care.
* Promote and adhere to the principles and practice of the Trusts clinical governance framework.
* Contribute to the review and development of clinical patient pathways and the development of the service, ensuring our services are safe.
* Adhere to trust infection and prevention control policies and procedures.
* Maintain up to date qualifications in relation to Intermediate life support (PILS).
* Lead on the review and implementation of appropriate NICE guidance.
* Support junior staff with clinical/therapy competencies.
* Act as a link for secondary care to discuss potential patient admissions through collaborative working.
Qualifications
* Must have completed the Independent Non‑Medical Prescribing course and registration with the NMC or HCPC, undertake non‑medical prescribing in accordance with the Trust non‑medical prescribing policy and maintain evidence and competence of this qualification. Adhere to CPD requirements of the Trust in relation to maintaining evidence of on‑going competence.
* Demonstrate advanced clinical assessment and management skills in urgent and primary care settings.
* Evidence of clinical leadership and mentoring experience.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage challenging and difficult situations and deliver multidisciplinary care.
* Knowledge of NHS clinical governance, infection prevention and control, and health and safety principles.
* Experience with non‑medical prescribing and familiarity with the relevant prescribing policies.
