Senior Site Ecologist - Manchester/Sheffield

What you'll be doing

* Lead on delivery of project ecological requirements.
* Develop and implement ecological management plans.
* Build and maintain relationships with regulators, clients and design teams, and internal teams.
* Ensure site compliance with ecological legislation and coach construction teams in applying controls and mitigations in pragmatic, cost‑effective ways.
* Ensure the company environmental management system is maintained in line with changing standards and legislation and liaise with senior team lead on changes required.
* Lead investigations and report on ecological incidents.


Who we're looking for

The Following Qualities/experience Are Essential

* Excellent knowledge of ecological management and mitigation
* Excellent understanding of ecological legalisation for development
* Good level of commercial awareness
* Full driver’s licence and flexibility to travel
* Good understanding of environmental management for construction sites
* Good understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment
* Literate in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
* Excellent communication skills

The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable

* Educated to degree or Masters level in Ecology or related subject
* At least one protected species survey licence and/ or preferably experienced in badger mitigation
* Experience of working on large scale infrastructure construction projects
* Full CIEEM Membership
