Overview
Brian is a cheerful and determined man who values his independence and is looking for two Personal Assistants (PAs) to help him live life to the fullest.
Brian is very well travelled, with a passion about politics and disability rights. He enjoys being out in the community, engaging in his drama group with a focus on disability rights, and he also enjoys football, reading, listening to music, and watching TV in his downtime.
This role is based in Knightswood and requires reliable travel to and from the area. The role is 42 hours per week split between 2 PAs at £12.60 per hour, with flexibility depending on Brian’s needs.
Responsibilities
* Support with personal care, e.g., assisting with ceiling hoist, showering and dressing.
* Meal preparation.
* Light housework and getting his paper from the local shop.
Qualifications
* Positive, punctual, reliable, with a good sense of humour.
* Experience working with individuals with Becker Muscular Dystrophy is helpful, but a caring nature is most important.
* Hoist training and moving and handling training are preferred but not essential; training will be provided to successful candidates where required.
* Ability to travel to Knightswood reliably.
