We are now seeking a highly organised and proactive PEP Apprentice to join our Virtual School Team. This role is essential in ensuring that Personal Education Plans (PEPs) for children in care are timely, accurate and fully support their educational progress. As our PEP Apprentice, you will be the backbone of the Virtual School’s PEP process. You will ensure that all electronic PEPs (EPEPs) are correctly set up, securely accessed, updated on time, and completed to a high standard. This is a role for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys improving systems and processes, and takes pride in delivering excellent support to colleagues, schools and social care professionals. We’re offering an apprenticeship in Level 3 Business Administration, and we’ll be working with West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC) to deliver the course. It will last for 12-18 months. You’ll spend 20% of your working hours on structured learning activities such as workshops, online modules, webinars, coaching, and shadowing to help you achieve your apprenticeship standard. As our Virtual School PEP Apprentice, you will: Prepare accurate, timely EPEPs for all meetings and upload them to our system, as well as update PEPs quickly when there are changes to placement, social worker or Designated Teacher (DT). Act as the primary point of contact for PEP queries from schools and users. Track PEP schedules, ensuring completion and sign-off by required deadlines, and chase overdue PEPs, escalating issues as needed. Attend EPEP training and share updates with the Virtual School team, as well as train new EPEP users, including annual DT training sessions. Support planning for future EPEP developments and upgrades. Maintain accurate information in various registers, and support data reporting for KPIs, Ofsted, and quarterly QA audits. Keep an updated list of Designated Teachers and monitor Ofsted school ratings. Provide administrative support to Virtual School workers as required. Help deliver participation activities and support team events such as the annual Children in Care celebration. We’re looking for someone who: Is exceptionally organised and detail-focused.
