Job overview
We are looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse to join our Continence Service at KCHFT. We are a team of Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurses, Pelvic Health Physiotherapists, and Assistant Practitioners with expertise in the care and treatment of bladder, bowel, and pelvic health conditions, including pelvic floor dysfunction, continence, and incontinence support. We are supported by our administrative team. We offer services to clients in Ashford, Canterbury, Coastal, South Kent Coast, Thanet, and West Kent areas.
Main duties of the job
As the Clinical Lead Nurse, you will oversee and support the management of a complex clinical caseload of patients with specialist clinical services as an autonomous practitioner. You will act as a role model for junior team members, demonstrating high skill and knowledge in a designated specialist area. You will participate in education and training of staff and students, leading the organization, implementation, and evaluation of training programs. The role will involve approximately 80% clinical work and 20% service development, depending on the clinical specialty. Additional working pattern: Weekdays - core hours.

Person specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* First Degree in professional nursing/therapy, Non-medical independent prescriber, Professional Registration, Evidence of ongoing professional development, Postgraduate education in a specialist clinical area, Membership of relevant Special Interest Group(s), Masters degree or willingness to pursue, Accreditation for Clinical Education, Clinical Supervisor.
EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience at Band 6/7, supervising staff/students, clinical education/mentoring, audit participation, managing complaints, quality and clinical governance, implementing practice changes, working in acute and community settings.
KNOWLEDGE
* Understanding of multidisciplinary teamwork, research awareness, relevant legislation, current clinical practice issues.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Advanced assessment and clinical judgment skills, planning and prioritization, problem-solving, excellent communication, IT skills, team leadership, travel ability, critical appraisal.
