Job Description
The Assistant Treasurer supports the Treasury leadership team in managing the organisation’s global treasury operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring liquidity, optimising cash management and managing financial risk. The position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Legal, and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Cash & Liquidity Management
* Monitor daily global cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity across the group.
* Support short‑term and medium‑term cash flow forecasting processes.
* Optimise internal and external funding to ensure efficient use of cash resources.
* Oversee cash pooling structures and bank account management.
Risk Management
* Assist in managing financial risks including FX, interest rate, and commodity exposures.
* Support the execution and documentation of hedging strategies in line with treasury policy.
* Monitor market developments and provide analysis to senior management.
Treasury Operations & Controls
* Ensure compliance with treasury policies and controls.
* Oversee treasury systems, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
* Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.
Banking & Stakeholder Management
* Act as a key point of contact for banking partners and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Accounting teams on cross‑functional initiatives.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to treasury transformation initiatives.
* Support M&A activities, including integration of acquired entities into treasury processes.
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Experience in a corporate treasury function.
* Strong understanding of cash management and financial markets.
* Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Proficiency with treasury management systems and Excel.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
Preferred
* ACT qualification (or progress toward it) or equivalent financial certification.
* Experience in a multinational environment.
* Familiarity with IFRS/US GAAP treasury‑related accounting.
