Overview
Partnered with a growing FMCG business based in West London, situated within walking distance of the Central and Bakerloo Line, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant on a full time permanent basis (100% Office Based), to join a fast-paced FMCG business. This is a hands-on role supporting the Management Accountant with month-end processes, reporting, and financial analysis, while mentoring a junior team member.
Responsibilities
* Processing the month-end close, posting journals, and preparing management accounts (income statement and balance sheet)
* Taking full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing monthly purchase reports covering duty calculation, commission, and freight costs
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts, board reports, and departmental reviews
* Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts regularly
* Collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data
* Completing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance with regulations
* Preparing weekly management reports such as aged debtor and sales analysis
* Supporting the Management Accountant with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and projects
* Providing cover for the Assistant Accountant
* Managing and mentoring a Junior Accountant
* Supporting other ad hoc finance tasks as required
Requirements
* A minimum of two years' experience as an Assistant Management Accountant in the FMCG industry
* Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas such as VLOOKUPs
* Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail for producing accurate reporting
* A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
* A willingness to learn from senior colleagues and contribute to team success
