Job overview
The North London Forensic Service has an exciting position available for an enthusiastic and motivated consultant forensic psychiatrist to join the existing team on Blue Nile House within the low secure in-patient pathway.
The successful applicant will join a team of consultant forensic psychiatrists within the North London Forensic Service, a large and successful forensic psychiatric service in north London, rated Outstanding by the CQC. Blue Nile House is a 16-bedded low secure forensic rehabilitation unit for male service users, promoting recovery, risk management, and increasing independence.

The successful applicant will provide consultant leadership to this well-organized team in delivering high-quality patient care. They will be supported with opportunities for professional development and collaborative work within the North London Forensic Service and associated partnerships.

Person specification
Interview requirements
* Full GMC registration
* Eligible for or on the Specialist Register in GMC
* CCT in Forensic Psychiatry
* Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
* Approved under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act and Approved Clinician status
* Experience in acute and community psychiatric settings
* Membership of a professional indemnity organization
* Engagement in annual appraisal
* Experience in multidisciplinary teaching
* Leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent communication skills
* Team player with an approachable attitude
* Willingness to represent the service externally
* Ability to build relationships with other agencies
* Willingness and ability to travel between locations
* Experience working in mental health outreach in prison settings
* Publications in Psychiatry (preferred)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds
