Role: Public Facilities Security Operative Location: Walton on the Naze Rate: £12.71 per hour Shift pattern: 4:30am to 7:30am and 8pm to 11pm Working rota: 3 days on 3 days off, 2 days on 2 days off, 2 days on 2 days off About the role We are recruiting on behalf of a local council for a reliable and community minded Public Facilities Security Operative to support the safe opening and closing of public conveniences and car parks across the borough. This is a practical, independent role that suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining public spaces, and values being part of the local community. You will play an important part in ensuring facilities are accessible, secure, and ready for public use each day. This position may suit candidates with experience in security, caretaking, facilities management, environmental services, grounds maintenance, site supervision, or property maintenance. It could also be a good fit for individuals who have worked as a caretaker, key holder, mobile warden, maintenance operative, park ranger, cleaning supervisor, or night security officer. Key responsibilities Open and secure public conveniences and car parks at scheduled times Carry out routine checks to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and secure Report any damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly Provide a visible presence to support public safety and deter anti social behaviour Travel between multiple sites across the borough as part of daily duties Maintain accurate records of site visits and checks A Full UK driving licence and Own transport are required for this role due to travel between locations, mileage will be paid.
