AFC Band 2 £24,305 to £26,392 pro rata per annum
35 hours per week, 10 hour shifts
2-week rotational night shift pattern
(One Week - 3 nights & One Week - 4 nights)
Who are we?
St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.

What is the role?
Working as part of the facilities team and under the direction of the senior nurse on duty you will assist in all aspects of hospice business activity, customer service, grounds maintenance, patient & family access support and building security related to the provision of a high quality portering service to patients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
What we expect of you?
1. Working on a night shift basis providing a security and portering service, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors in the hospice building
2. Understanding and following processes
3. De-escalation skills. Basic DIY
4. Excellent people skills
5. Full UK driving licence
6. Knowledge of Security Risks, Fire Risks and Basic IT knowledge (Reporting completion)
7. Customer services
8. Demonstrating a flexible approach to competing priorities
9. Working on your own
10. Assisting with the support of patients subject to clearance and training
11. Undertaking Mortuary duties adhering to strict guidelines and maintaining dignity and respect for the deceased at all times
