Your mission in CMbE
The Purchasing Administrator will provide essential administrative support to the procurement team within a complex machine tool manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate processing of purchase orders, maintains up-to-date supplier records, and facilitates smooth communication and documentation flow. You will keep purchasing operations running smoothly by using strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ERP system knowledge.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative or procurement support, with a minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office applications is essential, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams. Experience in maintaining accurate procurement documentation, managing supplier records, and supporting compliance processes is required.
About You
Candidates should hold GCSEs or equivalent, with further education in Business Administration, Procurement, or Supply Chain desirable. We are looking for a proactive, organised individual who is customer‑focused and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
You will be methodical, disciplined, and able to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, challenge existing processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Limited UK travel may be required.
