Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 occupational therapist to join our Older Persons Therapy team. As the successful post holder you will be encouraged and supported to develop Occupational Therapy skills in frailty with our Older Persons Service Therapy Team.
Our post provides opportunities to work as part of the therapy team covering: Older Persons Assessment Unit, Older Persons wards, and a continuing care ward. This enables therapists to develop a full understanding of the patient journey from emergency admission to transition home. The team values career progression and development, working within the four pillars of practice framework (leadership, clinical work, education, research).
Expectations of the post holder include working holistically within the scope of your role, service development, and opportunities to work alongside a range of experienced professionals within the hospital.
Responsibilities
* Contribute as an occupational therapist across Older Persons Assessment Unit, wards, and continuing care ward.
* Work holistically within the scope of own role and support service development.
* Collaborate with a range of experienced professionals within the hospital.
* Develop a full and rich understanding of the patient journey from emergency admission to transition home.
Qualifications
* Experience of working as an occupational therapist (including practice placement experience).
* Willing to participate in 7 day working on a rota basis.
* Ability to drive and hold a clean driver’s license.
Location and Dates
Base Location: Poole Hospital with a view to transfer to Bournemouth Hospital with Transformation. Interview Date: 21/10.
