Salary: £48,400 - 59,300 per year Requirements:
* To be successful in this role, you will hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) and/or experience in an IT field. You should have experience providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers. Experience supporting Operating Systems, containers, and containerized workloads (e.g., orchestration services such as OpenShift and Kubernetes) is essential. Familiarity with at least one programming/scripting language such as Ruby, Java, Python, JavaScript, Go, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Terraform is required. Additionally, you should have experience with DevOps working practices, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and the use of version control (Git and GitLab CI), and configuration-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments using Terraform. Working in an agile environment, building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications, particularly with AWS, is also necessary for this position.
Responsibilities:
* As a Senior DevOps Engineer, I will provide technical engineering capability for our Web Operations team, supporting production systems and collaborating with Agile development teams to deliver new services. I will take on a technical leadership role, establishing standards and championing best practices within the team. I will engage with other DevOps Engineers and provide coaching and support to Junior DevOps Engineers. My responsibilities will also include overseeing technical consolidation and improvement initiatives, providing guidance to technicians within the IT Operations Practice, and working across the Transformation and Technology directorate to deliver solutions in line with our Technology and Business Strategies. This role involves occasional planned out-of-hours work to manage IT changes and maintenance, as well as participation in an on-call rota.
