Overview
CNC Miller or Turner Programmer Setter Operator. Location: Kirkby in Ashfield, Notts. Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. Pay: 38k to £40,000 per year. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts.
Responsibilities
* Machining complex parts and components from various general engineering materials (e.g., Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, Titanium).
* Read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Change tooling and inspect components.
* Ensure production on high-precision CNC milling operations using Heidenhain controls.
* Use measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs and ring gauges to verify parts.
* Work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality components.
* Record and manage work with efficient time management and clear communication.
Qualifications
* Solid experience programming CNC Milling machines, specifically with Heidenhain controls.
* Operating/Setting and machining experience on large-sized components.
* Fully conversant with reading engineering drawings.
* Competent in producing high-quality components.
* Experience using engineering measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers).
* Strong communication and time management skills; able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
* Backbone requirements include apprenticeship in CNC machining and ability to demonstrate 10 years of work history or provide papers.
* Excellent working knowledge of 3-4 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
* ISO experience would be beneficial.
Preferred/Ideal Candidate
* Can program, set and operate using Heidenhain control systems.
* Ability to write and edit programs.
* Experience with medium/large volume batch work of large components.
* Confident in working on parts up to 2m in length, with lifting equipment provided.
