Salary: £24,408 to £24,795 per annum + Market Premia (£0.80 per hour) and a Retention Payment, subject to conditions.
Working Hours: Annualised Hours – 37 hours/week on average, 1686 hours/year. Typically between 35 and 41.5 hours/week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Waste Management Delivery Service. Leicestershire County Council is recruiting Plant Operatives to support the operation of Waste Transfer Stations (WTS).
Positions are full-time (5 days/week, including weekends and bank holidays with double pay).
About the Role
You will operate heavy plant and equipment, including 5CX loading shovels, telehandlers, and forklift trucks, to transfer waste efficiently and safely, complying with safety protocols. You will also maximize recyclables recovery and manage deliveries from residents, traders, and councils. The role involves outdoor work at a Household Recycling Waste Site and occasional work at Waste Transfer Stations. Experience in operating such equipment is preferred, but training may be provided.
Candidates will be based at Whetstone RHWS but must be flexible to work at any of the three sites.
About You
Essential Requirements:
* Valid 5CX Loading shovel ticket (training available)
* Full, valid UK Driving License with insurance for business use
* Knowledge of waste transfer station operations
* Health and safety awareness
* Effective time management and problem-solving skills
* Basic IT skills
